La Roche-Posay Effaclar Micro-Peeling Purifying Gel is a step up from the standard Effaclar gel cleanser, specifically developed for those with persistent, stubborn or body-wide blemishes including face, chest and back acne. The higher-strength formula combines three complementary active ingredients for a multi-level approach to clearing congested, oily skin. Salicylic Acid at 2%, the highest concentration in the Effaclar range, is a beta-hydroxy acid that is oil-soluble, allowing it to penetrate deep into the pore lining to dissolve the sebum and dead cell build-up that causes blackheads, whiteheads and breakouts. Capryloyl Salicylic Acid (LHA) at 0.05% is a gentler, micro-exfoliating derivative of salicylic acid that works at the surface of the skin to gradually refine pore appearance, smooth skin texture and improve overall clarity without irritation.

Zinc Gluconate at 0.2% purifies the skin, helps to regulate excess sebum production and provides an additional antibacterial action, while a refreshing cooling sensation from Menthol makes each cleanse feel invigorating. La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water, rich in selenium and trace elements, soothes and conditions during cleansing, and Glycerin maintains moisture balance to prevent the over-stripping that can cause rebound oiliness. How to use

1. Wet the skin with lukewarm water. Pump a small amount of gel into wet hands and work into a rich foam. Massage gently onto the face and/or body in circular motions, avoiding the eye area. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry.
2. Can be used morning and/or evening on the face, and in the shower on the chest and back for body acne. Follow with Effaclar Duo+M moisturiser and daily SPF protection such as Anthelios UVMune 400 Oil Control Fluid.
